​In response to repeated sanctions against Asheville’s Mission Hospital, Congressman Chuck Edwards has introduced a bill to expand the powers of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to regulate hospitals. The bill, named Health Care Accountability of Mission Act of 2026, would give the federal regulator the power to impose financial penalties on hospitals
